The much-anticipated Body Boyz United Columbus Day weekend of events, kicked off with the Fitness Male Model Competition at the intimate Holiday Inn – LAX ballroom. Both body and boys were abound.

Playful best describes the night’s overall tone, created by the hilarious host, comedian Mike Mizzel, who started the competition sashaying down the added runway stage like Naomi Campbell on crushed glitter. The organizer’s Sydney Flex Porter and David Chandler talked about the goal of Body Boyz United and called out the models for the sportswear round.

Jet Magazine Features First Male Couple in Weddings Section

The new issue of Jet magazine features a gay male couple in its Jet Love weddings section, a first for the venerable publication. The December 10 issue of Jet,which hit newsstands today, highlights the wedding of Ravi Perry, an assistant professor of political science at Mississippi State University, and Paris Prince, a licensed real estate broker and compliance officer for the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. They were married in August at their home in Worcester, Mass.
